॥ॐ नमो नारायणाय॥
शुक्लांबरधरं विष्णुं शशिवर्णं चतुर्भुजम्, प्रसन्नवदनं ध्यायेत् सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये॥१॥
All knowing with four arms dressed in white you glow as the moon all pervading
Remove barriers from my path on your smiling face I meditate and am praying.
शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्यनाभं सुरेशं, विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम्।
लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यं, वन्दे विष्णु भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम्॥ २॥
I bow to Lord Vishnu the One Master of the Universe unquestionably,
Who reclines on the great serpent bed and is peaceful perpetually,
His navel springs the Lotus of the Creative Power - the Supreme Being be,
He supports the entire universe and is all-pervading as the sky undeniably,
He is dark as the clouds with a beautiful Lord of Lakshmi form glowingly,
He the lotus-eyed One, whom the yogis perceive through meditation only,
He is the destroyer of the fear of `Samsar’ and Lord of all `loks’ certainly.
औषधे चिन्तयेद्विष्णुं भोजने च जनार्दनम्। शयने पद्मनाभं च विवाहे च प्रजापतिम्॥३॥
युद्धे चक्रधरं देवं प्रवासे च त्रिविक्रमम्। नारायणं तनुत्यागे श्रीधरं प्रियसंगमे॥४॥
दु:स्वप्ने स्मरे गोविन्दं संकटे मधुसूदनम्। कानने नारसिंहं च पावके जलशायिनम्॥५॥
जलमध्ये वराहं च पर्वते रधुनन्दनम्। गमने वामनं चैव सर्वकार्येषु माधवम्॥६॥
As Vishnu while taking medicine, Janardhan while eating food be,
As Padmanabh when in bed, Prajapathi at time of marriage clearly,
As Chakra dhara while in war, Trivikrama while on travel surely,
As Narayan on death bed, Sreedhar while meeting with beloved really,
As Govind while tossing in dreams, Madhu Sudhan in trouble truly,
As Narasimha when in the forest, Jal Sayinam while fire ravaging actually,
As Varah while struggling in water, Raghunandan when lost in mountain be,
As Vaman while on the move and as Madhav while doing everything totally.
षोडशैतानि नामानि प्रातरुत्थाय य: पठेत्। सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो विष्णुलोके महीयते॥७॥
As soon as one wakens in the morning, if these sixteen names are read fully,
One would be free of all sins reaching Vishnu’s world at the end definitely.
